Our first appointment will involve some standard questions so that I can get a better understanding of what brings you to therapy. At the end of this appointment I will give you my impressions of how we might move forward. Most of the time, this involves meeting for several more sessions so that I can deepen my understanding of your particular difficulties and provide you with interventions to help alleviate some of your symptoms. After these visits, we will then discuss whether or not it makes sense  to continue with therapy. Some people choose to continue and some do not. It has been my experience that some people start to feel better and feel comfortable in taking the interventions we discussed to implement themselves. And some would like to continue our work together. Ultimately, therapy is a process that you are in control of. I will give you my thoughts and impressions but it is up to you what you choose to do with them.
